路易斯.厄德里奇是当代重要的本土作家。从1984年起,她连续发表了《爱药》、《甜菜女王》、《轨迹》、《羚羊妻》等多部小说或故事集,描写了当代印第安人的生活,映射了印第安家庭之间、个人之间、印第安人与白人之间等各种错综复杂的关系,在小说艺术上取得了很多重大成就。她本人身份的混杂性与边缘化在其长篇小说中留下不可磨灭的痕迹。厄德里奇善于运用的奥吉布瓦族讲故事的模式和叙述自由之间的平衡,不仅反映了印第安人通常的讲故事技巧,而且体现了奥吉布瓦族喜欢恶作剧的精灵纳纳伯周(Nanabozho)的精神实质。本文通过分析恶作剧精灵以及特殊的叙述模式在厄德里奇长篇小说中的体现,来说明奥吉布瓦传统故事的特点。
Louis Erdrich is an important contemporary native writer. Since 1984, she has successively published many novels or story sets such as “Love Medicine”, “Queen of Beets,” “Tracks” and “Antelope Widow.” It describes the lives of contemporary Indians and maps Indian families. Various intricate relationships among individuals, Indians and whites have made many great achievements in the art of fiction. The confusion and marginalization of her own identity have left an indelible mark on her novels. The balance between the mode of storytelling and the narrative freedom of the Ojibbiris who are good at using Erdrich reflects not only the Indians’ usual storytelling skills but also the fact that the Ojibwa’s prank-loving wizard, Nanabozho ) The essence of the spirit. This article illustrates the characteristics of the traditional story of Ojibwa by analyzing the embodiment of mischief and special narrative patterns in Erdrich’s novels.
