The European-Mediterranean Seismogicai Center, or EMSC for short, is a research institute that processes seismic data. It is composed of a number of units in the European and local maritime regions that are interested in monitoring seismicity. EMSC is located at the Institute of Geophysics at the University of Strasbourg, a small city in the eastern part of France, which borders West Germany. The area is a secluded, scenic area with a European heritage of urban architecture; the famous European Community Headquarters is located here. The basic routine of EMSC is to determine the seismic parameters (orientations) that occur in Europe and the Mediterranean. If an earthquake is detected by several stations in more than two countries, the source location of the event is given by the computer. If calculated
