Objective To investigate the effect of different delivery methods on neonatal asphyxia in elderly mothers. Methods Obstetrics and Gynecology in our hospital from February 2011 -2013 August 80 cases of elderly women as the research object, of which 46 cases of cesarean section, 34 cases of natural childbirth, respectively, as the observation group and the control group, To study the effects of different modes of delivery on asphyxia of newborns in two groups of pregnant women. Results In the observation group, the cesarean section rate was 6.5% in 46 cesarean section mothers and asphyxia in 5.9% of spontaneous mothers in control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Older maternal vaginal delivery does not increase the incidence of neonatal asphyxia, so this population can not be used as an indication of caesarean section. Clinical work, we must strictly control the indications of cesarean section to control the rate of cesarean section.
