关于表演艺术的创作方法,欧洲曾有过体验派与表现派的争论,两大派争论了二百多年,我国戏剧界1961年也曾就这个问题展开讨论。持有表现派观点的代表人物有法国十八世纪哲学家狄德罗、法国演员科格兰(1841-1909)等;体验派的代表人物有英国演员欧文(1838-1905)(1829-1916)、以及俄国的斯坦尼斯拉夫斯基。两派争论的焦点是演员在表演中是否要真的动感情。
