It is reported that because of the loss, Japan’s Toyo Textile Company announced that it will reduce equipment and shut down three spinning mills. Toyo Co. has 8 spinning mills and 372,000 spindles. By the end of this year, the spindles will have been reduced to 214,000 and the loom has been reduced from 607 to 412. The planned shutdown of spinning mills is only 50% to 60%. After the closure, Toyo will no longer produce cotton yarn varieties that compete with each other in South and East Asia, but will focus on the production of high value-added products such as high-yield yarns, making surplus yarn mills profitable. Toyo said that reducing equipment does not mean reducing income. The company has already purchased yarns and fabrics from other companies. Closing mills can have more options.
