This article emphasizes the close relationship between catalytic theory and gas sensing technology. Based on the surface coverage θ derived from the catalytic reaction kinetics, the catalytic and gas sensing properties of gas-sensing materials are discussed. The effects of diffusion control on the sensitivity and selectivity of gas-sensitive materials were analyzed in detail. Gas-sensitive material control indicators and catalytic properties have been linked. Pointed out the possibility of using the catalytic theory and experimental results to guide the study of gas-sensitive materials.
