我社共有九十三个生产队,去年有七十八个试种、推广撮苗种植一千四百六十三亩,占玉米总播面积的19%。通过二十六个生产队和四个大队农科站单收单打统计,四百九十三亩撮种平均亩产五百九十五斤,较对照增产27.3%。一般增产幅度为10—40%。根据我们两年来的观察分析,撮种获得增产的主要原因是:1.株距小,行距大,创造了良好的通风透光条件,有利于光合作用的进行,发挥了“多边优势”。2.实行挖窝埋粪,集中施肥,克服了目前肥料不足且撒施而造成的养分散失现象,提高了肥料利用率。3.可以增加株数,达到合理密植。我社单种玉米,一般每亩保苗一千七百至二千株;实行撮种后,一般行距是三尺二至三尺五寸,撮距二尺,每撮三株,实际保苗二千五百至二千
