June 30, 2003, is the moment of milestone in the history of the development of wall materials in China. This is the deadline for banning the use of solid clay brick in 170 cities. In order to achieve the goal of “banning the implementation of the ban for a limited time”, in recent years all localities have actively implemented the relevant state policies, opened up new ideas and carried out creative work in accordance with local conditions and achieved gratifying results. The arrival of the “banned” period in 170 large and medium-sized cities does not mean the end of the “ban on realism.” Cities that have achieved the goal of “banning forging ahead” should further consolidate their achievements and need to continue their efforts if they fail to achieve their goals. By 2005, all provincial capitals will have to be “banned” and work on “banning” must be pushed forward to small towns and rural areas. Out of solid clay brick, we still have a long way to go. In order to promote future “banning” work and promote the further development of wall materials innovation and building energy conservation, we specially compiled a series of reports introducing the experience of “no-clean” in some provinces and cities.
