老年性黄斑变性(SMD)是50岁以上老年人低视力和盲目的首要原因,目前在我国日益受到重视。SMD的发病机制并没完全清楚,本病可能是视网膜色素上皮(RPE)、Bruch’s膜及脉络膜毛细血管层的改变。导致RPE脱离、萎缩、或视网膜下新生血管膜(NVMS)形成他。研究证明,氩激光光凝可减轻或减慢SMD由于中心凹外的视网膜NVMS所致的视力障碍,但如果NVMS发展到中心凹,视功能损害将是不可逆的。因此预防研究的重点
