该项目是湖南省水产科研所完成的农业部和省科委的“八五”重点攻关项目。1993年通过省级技术鉴定,1995年获省科技进步二等奖,并获国家专利。其主要技术指标:大面积产量平均达10.8克/只,优质珠率达54.7％,有光珠率达95％;个别育珠蚌产珠量达30克/只,优质珠率占64.3％。该项技术能使育珠周期缩短14个月,已推广应用面积5000多公顷,新增产值9000多万元,税利5000多万元。
