幼儿期是口头语言迅速发展的时期。根据1980.9—1983.7广州市幼儿智力调查小组对六名不同职业的家庭、不同类型的幼儿园的幼儿,进行为期三年的跟踪记录(从三岁入园至六岁出园,在自然条件下对跟踪对象每月记录一整天的口语情况)。1984年以来我们又采取分层随机抽样办法,在不同幼儿园随班听课及在各种活动中对不同幼儿进行观察和个别交谈,发现幼儿掌握句子有如下特点:
Early childhood is a period of rapid development of spoken language.
