2006年4月9日,在北京举行的“华夏和谐颂2006年世界华人新春书画展”颁奖典礼上,宋寿金书法作品“和谐华夏”夺得了特等奖第一名和最具艺术价值人物奖,接着他又获得“纪念毛泽东同志‘沁园春·雪’发表60周年全国书法大赛”特等奖等多项全国性书法大赛奖。宋寿金作为一名曾任地级市委常委、宣传部长10年的现任中共茂名市委副书记,能获得如此多的大奖,其书法艺术之路充满着执着、奋发、创新、辉煌的时代精神风貌。他所付出的汗水和智慧,常人难以想象,其创造性的书法艺术成就值得世人称颂。
