应用卫星照片编制地震构造图在中国是一种新的尝试。国家地震局地质研究所及地震研究所合编、并有全国各省市地震部门参加、于1980年编绘的1:400万“中国卫星影像地震构造图”,是一幅应用卫星影像判读、分析与地震活动有关的活动构造现象的全国性图件。卫星影像判读的主要断裂构造基本上反映了中国地质构造轮廓,特别是反映了影像信息清晰的活动断裂构造。通过与地震震中分布的对比提出,强震多半发生在下述地段:活动断裂强烈
