教育是一种按照一定社会需要培养人的实践活动。培养人才是其共同的本质,教育的培养目标是把受教育者培养成一定社会所需要的人才。这也是所有教育的根本特质和核心问题,是一切教育活动的出发点和最终归宿。我们国家成人教育的培养目标,是把受教育者培养成为德智体全面发展的有理想、有道德、有文化、有纪律的社会主义事业的建设者和接班人。这是我们国家社会主义教育的共同目标。在这一目标指导下,结合自己多年的成人教育工作实践,笔者认为在成人教学中必须处理好群体性与个体性的关系。否则,很难培养出适合现代社会发展的“四有”新人。成人教育作为一种职后教育,是现代经济建设、社会发展及科技进步的重要途径,是提高全民素质,开发成人人力资源的重要手段。成人教育的突出特点就是其教育对象亦即受教育者是成人学员。一般说来,他们都有一定的社会经验、人生阅历,其气质、性格也相对成熟。换言之,他们对人对事对己对物都持有一个相对稳定态度。因此,在对成人学员实施教育过程中应充分考虑到成人学员的群体性,实现成人教学的培养目标:同时,又必须照顾到成人学 Education is a kind of practice to train people according to certain social needs.
