Objective To explore the relationship between children’s sleep status and behavior problems. Methods A total of 939 children aged 3 ~ 12 years were randomly selected from 3 administrative districts of Qinhuangdao City. Children’s sleep status survey was conducted by using self-designed questionnaire of children’s sleep status. Children’s behavior was evaluated by Achenbach (CBCL) scale. Results The detection rate of sleep problems was 28.65% among the 939 children surveyed in this survey. The incidence of behavioral problems in children with sleep problems was significantly higher than that without sleep problems (χ2 = 8.19, P <0.01). The scores of 9 behavioral factors in boys sleep group were significantly higher than those in boys without sleep group, and the scores of other behavioral factors in girls sleep group were significantly higher than those in girls without sleep disorder (P <0.01) ). Conclusion Children’s sleep status is related to behavior problems. Children with behavioral problems should pay attention to their sleep status.
