Objective To evaluate the effect of group training on the depression of college students and explore the effective forms of group training in colleges and universities. Methods The experimental group and the control group before and after the quasi-experimental design, select 40 depressed mood college students for a period of 7 weeks of cognitive response to group training, self-rating depression scale (SDS), attribution method questionnaire (ASQ) and The Simple Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ) was used as a measurement tool to measure the subjects one week before and after the group training was performed, and SDS return measurements were made again six months later. Results ① The depression score of the experimental group was significantly improved after intervention (60.54 ± 8.34) and post-test (49.64 ± 8.66), the difference was statistically significant (t = 3.44, P = 0.003) (48.82 ± 13.04) points, post-test score (51.63 ± 11.42) points, the difference was not statistically significant (t = 0.65, P = 0.552). (2) There was a significant improvement in coping style after intervention in the experimental group (1.63 ± 0.48) and post-test (2.08 ± 0.37) respectively, the difference was statistically significant (t = 3.90, P = 0.001) There was no significant difference in the evaluation scores of secondary coping styles. ③ The experimental group before and after the intervention of self-assessment of word frequency and self-confidence have greatly improved the evaluation. ④ After 6 months of follow-up showed that the intervention effect remained good. ⑤ The experimental group before and after the changes in the distribution of depression changed, the degree of depression after intervention were reduced. Conclusion The effect of group training on the depression of college students is quite satisfactory. It is an effective mode to promote the mental health of college students, and it is suggested to carry out actively.
