Based on user requirements and regulations governing noise and emissions control, CAV has developed a new integrated fuel injection pump called Maximec. According to the principle proven on Majormec pumps, larger new pumps were designed primarily to accommodate increased working stresses due to the continuous high-speed operation at high injection rates and injection pressures. Due to emissions, smoke and noise regulations, and more emphasized fuel economy requirements, shorter injection durations will become an increasingly significant feature of large direct injection diesel engines. Maximec pumps are available in four-, six-, eight- and twelve-cylinder diesel engines and are suitable for automotive engine applications with a capacity of 75 kW (100 hp) per cylinder at injection pressures up to 1000 bar.
