Many fluoroquinolones have been found to have good antibacterial activity against common intestinal bacteria. The antibacterial activity of Lomefloxacjn and temafloxacin against Salmonella, Shigella and Yersinia compared with those of earlier quinolones. However, there is little data on the in vitro antibacterial activity of these two new quinolones for Campylobacter jejuni, Campylobacter coli, Clostridium difficile and Vibrio.
