Dear editor,rnDespite the development of extensive strategies[1,2],adap-tive control still requires thorough investigations to improve its capability and cover more uncertain systems.This study aims to demonstrate the powerful ability of adaptive control in compensating multiple serious uncertainties,particularly those in input powers,by investigating global stabilization for the following planar nonlinear system with unknown in-put powers:{ (x)1 =g1 (x)[x2]p1 (t) + f1(x),(x)2 =g2(x)[u]p2(t) + f2(x),(1)where[·]a =sign(·)|· |a for a > 0;x =[x1,x2]T ∈ R2 is the system state with the initial condition x(to) =x0;u ∈ R is the control input;p1(t) and p2(t) are unknown smooth functions,referred to as the input powers of the system;gi :R2 → R,i =1,2 and fi :R2 → R,i =1,2 are unknown continuous functions,referred to as the control coefficients and nonlinearities of the system,respectively.
