通过对新棕、陈棕、陈棕炭及市售止血药血安(棕榈子提取物的干浸膏)等的水、醇、乙酸提取液的薄层层析和对小鼠、家兔凝血时间的测定,结果表明新棕、陈棕、陈棕炭、血安等主要斑点的数量、荧光、Rf值相同,由此推断其止血的主要有效成分是相同的。20%陈棕炭水煎液即有显著的凝血效果(P<0.05),30%以上浓度时,其凝血作用与同浓度的血安比,似有超过血安的趋势。通过时效关系的测定,发现陈棕炭体内有效浓度维持24小时。
