Piston rings that require a new structure with a slight chamfer on the working surface add a lot of difficulty to chrome plating and often add waste products to the chrome layer due to its peeling off. Therefore, the primary task is to reduce the brittleness of the chromium layer and improve its adhesion strength while maintaining the high wear resistance of the chromium layer.
