From the 17th to the 18th century, the exchanges between Europe and China involved the extensive exchanges of politics, economy, culture, art and so on. During this period, a strong “Chinese style” was formed, especially among the aristocrats and emerging political thinkers in Europe. However, due to the limited access to China in Europe at that time, the reference to China’s philosophical thinking has definite political aims and its own sense of superiority and other factors. The influence of China in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries was limited and plain, leaving no real and profound imprint. In general, the impact is mainly concentrated in the field of art such as painting and pottery making, while the impact of cultural politics and philosophy is negligible.
