Discusses the initial physical design of a low-beam, high-energy proton linac for cancer treatment. S-band acceleration structures with short pulses and high repetition rates, similar to medical linear linacs. The total length is 26m. It consists of ion source, RFQ, DTL, SCDTL and SCL. The energy is adjustable by eight steps at 70-200MeV and the average beam intensity is 10-40nA.
