秋霜随秋雨,秋气伴秋风,秋之为物,肃杀凋零。伤秋题咏,诗词习见,惨淡寂寥者多而荣华欢欣者寡。或有苏子瞻放舟赤壁,物我两忘;范希文不以己悲,心怀天下,皆是旷达人语。而一诗中既备伤秋之体,兼容放旷之情者,舍唐温如《题龙阳县青草湖》其何? 西风者,秋风也,金风也,肃杀之风也。西风过而洞庭亦老,是非恩怨,悲欢离合,波谲云诡之事,于此衰迟之时,皆当知命而不惑矣！此波非彼波,不可轻易放过。 湘君者,湘灵也,洞庭之神也。屈子行吟,歌太一而颂湘神,天地有情,洞庭亦老,湘君华发,奈何奈何?纵天高地迥,宇宙无极,逢秋难免衰飒萧条,况茕然一身,单形只影,念天地悠悠,岂不怆然涕下哉！
