经额部钻孔置入内窥镜显示额窦内部结构有助于处理窦内病变。该途径可以通过直接检查额窦后壁,估计骨折、脑膜撕裂及脑脊液漏的情况。同时此项技术的应用对于手术治疗侵犯额窦隐窝的炎性或新生物也极有意义。通过治疗1例急性额窦骨折及2例慢性阻塞性额窦炎的患者,认为经此两条径路治疗额窦内病变是一种更为彻底的方法。额窦前壁内陷性骨折可以经过创口或额部钻孔予以直接复位。由于额部软组织肿胀,从外部很难确定窦壁骨折及复位的情况,而经额部钻孔置入内窥镜观察,则可一目了然。复位治疗过程中,无论在任何情况下保证窦口的引流通畅都是一个非常重要
