赵鹏大院士:1952年毕业于北京大学地质学系,1954年赴苏留学并于1958年获莫斯科地质勘探学院副博士学位,1960年任北京地质学院副教授,1980年任武汉地质学院教授。在数学地质与矿产资源定量预测及评价等方面作出重要贡献,于1993年当选中国科学院院士。他还是一位地质教育家,1983～2005年(22年间),先后担任武汉地质学院院长和中国地质大学(武汉)、中国地质大学(北京)及中国地质大学总校校长。他亲自培养并已毕业的博士生达102人、硕士生数十人,为发展高等地质教育和培养地学人才作出了重要贡献。 Zhao Pengda Academician: Graduated from Department of Geology, Peking University in 1952, went to study in Soviet Union in 1954 and received an associate’s degree from Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute in 1958. In 1960, he was an associate professor of Beijing Geological College and a professor of Wuhan Institute of Geology in 1980. In mathematics geology and mineral resources quantitative prediction and evaluation made an important contribution, in 1993 was elected academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was also a geologist educator. From 1983 to 2005 (22 years), he served successively as dean of Wuhan Geological College and president of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and China University of Geosciences. He personally trained and graduated doctoral students up to 102 people, dozens of master’s degree, for the development of higher geological education and training geosciences made an important contribution.
