有不少机床与机器要求它的主动件每转一周,从动件完成前进、停留、后退、停留四个动作循环。为了实现这样的运动,常设计一种圆柱螺旋槽凸轮,它的凸轮槽是由旋向不同的两螺旋槽与两平槽组成,俗称封闭螺旋槽凸轮(见图1),图2为凸轮槽展开图。因为这样的凸轮在平槽与螺旋槽的交接处有过渡圆弧槽,加工起来比较困难,单靠分度头挂轮,铣削不出过渡圆弧槽。为了在普通立铣上加工这类凸轮,我们设计了一套装置(见图3),可加工各种不同升角、不同行程的封闭螺旋槽凸轮。加工时只需在这套装置上换一块相对应的展开凸轮模板,嵌入小溜板的下方,即可使用。模板是在平板上按凸轮某一直径(与齿轮节径一致)上的槽展开图而加工的槽子。这套装置适合新设计的凸轮靠模的加工。其工作原理如下:
