Objective To understand the status of lead pollution in food in some counties and cities in Zunyi in 2013. Methods A total of 174 food samples of four types of infant food, edible fungus, tea and vegetable were collected from major supermarkets and farmers’ markets in some counties and cities according to random principles to detect heavy metals. Results All kinds of food did not exceed the standard, the average detection rate was 25.2%, the detection rate of various types of food by chi-square test differences were statistically significant. Conclusion The excess of lead in all kinds of food is 0 and the exceeding standard rate is 0.0%, which shows that the level of lead pollution is generally safe. However, lead is detected in all kinds of food, indicating that there are different degrees of lead pollution.
