Literature and drama are two related art categories. Due to various reasons, our literature has developed to many aspects so far, showing a more ample, active and open trend than drama. It is necessary for our drama art to reform, rejuvenate and prosper. It is necessary to draw some useful nutrition from the current development of literature. To this end, I try to make a bit of a horizontal comparison between the two. The aim is to provide the friends in the opera world with a frame of reference that is visible, touching, and often overlooked. According to the American school of comparative literature scholars, the comparison between literature and other art categories also belongs to the meaning of “comparative literature”.
