进入4月份以来,日照港又送走了10余艘万吨级以上满载散杂货物的中外巨轮,结束了以煤炭运输为主的生产历史。 在80年代中期曾以我国第二大煤炭输出港闻名于世的日照港,近年来致力于加快港口建设发展步伐,到目前已形成了综合性、多功能的运输生产大格局。两个全国最大的10万吨级煤炭专用泊位,分别以每小时装煤6000吨的速度,常年为来自世界各地的船舶输送着源源不断的优质煤炭。9个陆续增加的万吨级杂货通用泊位,可装卸水泥、化肥、粮食、钢铁、糖类、油类、水煤浆、集装箱等50多种散杂货物。另外,港口生产设施设备配套,既拥有全国规模最大的仓储货场、堆场,货物堆存能力达到2000万吨以上,又拥有当今世界一流的翻车机、装船机、门机、全液压轮胎起重机、集装箱专用运输车等先进设备,其装卸运输的自动化程度和作业效率都很高。
