Foreigners hit Chinese companies on the wall In July 12, 1993, China Minmetals Corporation’s Chemical Chamber of Commerce received notice from the Chinese Embassy in the United States that the US Department of Commerce began an anti-dumping investigation against Chinese silicon carbide production. The prosecution was an American alliance of three silicon carbide producers representing the United States. It claimed that the dumping margin of silicon carbide in China was 283%, and listed 19 silicon carbides including China’s first, second and seventh grinding wheel factories. Manufacturer. Not long ago, the European Community had just made an unfavorable ruling on anti-dumping duties imposed on China’s silicon carbide. If Chinese exporters should not appeal or provide materials that are beneficial to themselves, the U.S. Commercial Committee will use the “best material available” that the prosecution offers to China. A high anti-dumping tariff is imposed on China’s silicon carbide and it cannot be exported to the United States, thus losing another major market after Europe.
