Objective: To observe the effect of 60Co alternating half-body irradiation on leukemia. Methods: The patients with leukemia after chemoembolization were selected. The patients were treated with 60Co alternating half-length radiotherapy after pretreatment. Clinical, blood and bone marrow changes were observed. Patients without recurrence after radiotherapy were given chemotherapy without chemotherapy. Treatment; compared with non-radiotherapy patients over the same period efficacy. Results: After 6 patients were treated with 60Co alternating radiotherapy, 7 survived and 3 died. Among them, 3 survived more than 2 years and none died during radiotherapy. In the same period, patients who did not radiotherapy but could consolidate and maintain chemotherapy There were no significant differences between the two groups (P> 0.05). There were 9 cases (3 cases survived more than 2 years and 3 died). None of the 27 patients with remission who did not maintain chemotherapy survived for more than 2 years, which was significantly different from radiotherapy group (P <0.01). CONCLUSION: 60Co alternating half-length radiotherapy is suitable for patients with acute leukemia who are suffering from economic difficulties, unconditional bone marrow transplantation and those who can not consolidate and maintain chemotherapy for a long time, which can reduce repeated intrathecal intrathecal chemotherapy and improve the quality of life of patients
