1 Clinical data rnNeuromyotonia is an uncommon syndrome of spontaneous and continuous muscle fiber activity,of which,the cause is unknown. There is no report in the literature about neuromyotonia after electric shock yet.Here we report a case.On February 7,1998,a 41 years old man was injured by a high voltage line of 6 400 volts when he was working.He was unconscious then.4～ 5 hours later,he was conscious with several skin burn at the vertex of the skull,neck and the right upper limb.4 months later,there were continuous fine muscle twitching in his right arm.Treatment of diazepam was ineffective. The symptoms aggravated gradually and these affected his daily life. The patient was in good health in the past.There was no relevant previous history or family history of neuromuscular or autoimmune disease. rn
