托尔斯泰的忏悔精神和人道主义思想对鲁迅有重要的影响 ,使鲁迅的忏悔不像基督徒面对牧师说出自己的罪过一样 ,是为了寻求心灵的慰藉和良心的安宁 ,也不同于歌德笔下少年维特的烦恼 ,卢梭的自剖 ,在忏悔中包含超越世俗的个人英雄主义的骄傲。而是在本质上接近托尔斯泰的忏悔 ,是良知审判与道德规范的融合 ,在忏悔中包含着灼热的忧国忧民意识。这种影响融化在鲁迅的创作中 ,在《伤逝》中体现为涓生与《复活》中的聂赫留朵夫一样具有深沉的忏悔意识、执著向上的精神、个人主义与人道主义相统一的思想模式 ,而且由于主人公忏悔的苦痛、执著追求与黑暗现实之间的冲突 ,两部作品都弥漫着忧郁感伤的色彩
