From the 19th century to the early 20th century, the industrial revolution brought about many revolutionary ideas and inventions, thus changing the lives of tens of thousands of people. One of the most prevalent is to make glass - one of the oldest and most readily available materials - into fibers. The origins of fiberglass are inextricably linked to Owens Corning, dating back to the 19th century. At the time, Owens Glass Machine Company in Toledo, Ohio, USA, and Corning Glass Co., New York, were making glass wool experiments at the same time. However, there was not much progress. Until the accidental welding of glass, a compressed gas accidentally hit the liquid glass, forming a very fine fiber, glass fiber was born. Owens Corning later became the world’s largest manufacturer of glass fiber composite and fiberglass thermal insulation materials.
