老龄化社会到来,健康长寿无疑是全体社会成员关注的焦点。中老年女性是否可以通过太极拳活动来促进健康呢。文章在2010年荆州市国民体质测试过程中,找到10名参加业余太极拳活动的中老年女性(平均年龄54.4岁,平均身高159.1厘米,平均体重59.3公斤)和12名普通老年女性(平均年龄55.3岁,平均身高161.5厘米,平均体重62.4公斤),测量统计了她们相应体适能指标。均值与方差T检验证明,参加业余太极拳活动的上臂皮脂厚度(1.5±0.6厘米)比普通的(1.8±0.5厘米)呈现较显著的差异(P<0.01);而且体脂百分比也表现出参加业余太极拳活动的(20.7±4.3%)比普通的(21.3±5.3%)显著低(P<0.01)。研究发现,通过握力计获得的肌力也呈现出参加业余太极拳活动的(34.7±9.0千克)比普通的(25.8±3.9千克)较显著的差异(P<0.01)。首次发现参加业余太极拳活动对上肢力量有很好的训练效果,从而可以预计参加业余太极拳活动对中老年女性存在改善形体的可能,另外对增加她们的上肢力量也有可以预见的明显效果。
