中西方审美意识形态理论进行比较和对话的基础在于,它们都根源于对文学艺术中审美与意识形态关系的思考,都在对现代性进行反思的过程中,把使文学与意识形态拉开距离的希望寄托在审美上。同时,无论在中国还是西方,这种研究范式随着现代性反思的进一步深入以及后现代冲击的加剧,都显示出局限性。西方马克思主义视域中的审美意识形态理论的最新发展对于中国的审美意识形态论应对当下的危机、规避文学本质论的局限性、实现范式转型具有重要的借鉴和参考价值,但同时也要看到,中国自身的社会性质和文化现状决定了我们要在借鉴西方理论资源的同时,把批判的视角与建设的视角结合起来,找到一条发展中国自己的马克思主义审美意识形态理论的道路。
