IntroductionBehcet\'s disease (BD) is an multi-system inflammatory vasculitis based on small and large vessels of the venous and arterial system.(1) About 80％ of BD patients have ocular lesions characterized by recurrent iridocyclitis,retinal vasculitis,and retinal ischemia.Frequent recurrence of these lesions,leading to macular edema and optic atrophy,can eventually result in severe loss of vision.(2,3) Western medicine treatment focuses on steroid and immunosuppressive agents;however,the reduction of medication dose can lead to relapse,which is a difficult problem in clinical practice.Prof.ZHUANG Zeng-yuan from the Eye Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences has long been engaged in Chinese medicine (CM) treatment of BD\'s uveitis.Based on the clinical observation,he has accumulated a number of cases on the disease pathogenesis,diagnosis,and treatment,as well as prescriptions,which made it possible to have a systematic summary of the proper way to treat the disease.(4,5)
