无论在组织内或是组织外,今天的工作已与往日不同。时间的不同再加上工作所具有的变异性,使我们对工作与时间的整体概念进行思考,在何处工作?在什么时候工作、如何工作,以及为何工作?我们有必要重新思考组织契约的问题,包括企业组织的定义,我们对组织的期望,以及我们打算为组织付出些什么。社会再也不能指望新型的公司会与旧式企业一样,提供每个人生活生计之一切所需。或指望它们纳税支付退休金。即使经济景气的繁荣时期也办不到。办公室或工厂再不是每一个人每日离家前往固定的场所,也不再是在组织内顺着职位的阶梯往上爬。我们的工作职称也无法明确地显示出实际情况。
Today’s work is different from the past, both within and outside the organization.
