The high-order statistics approach is a powerful tool for studying non-Gaussian processes, nonlinear systems, and non-minimum phase signals. Some problems with unsatisfactory results using analysis or processing of correlation functions or power spectra can use higher-order statistics. This article describes the application of high-order statistics in geophysics.
