Cultural tourist attractions are often seen as promoting nostalgia, where tourists are brought back to the past and watch artifacts or historical monuments. They are often shown as static images of traditional rituals or art performances. The commercialization of this culture may not be very real, and for the benefit of folk artists, the economic benefits they derive from it are often insignificant. Indian social organization banglanatak dot com launched the “Art for Life” initiative to increase the choices of life in rural and local communities rich in intangible cultural heritage resources. One successful strategy is to bring the artist’s The village develops into a cultural tourist attraction. This case study describes the reel painter village Naya, the Fakiri singer village Gorbhanga and the indigenous village of Tunta in Santhal, all located in eastern India. The artist community already has the ability to innovate in travel products and manage travel services. Festivals have become an important tool for promoting new tourist attractions, and villages have become educational destinations. During this process, the average monthly income of artists has risen substantially, while the sanitation and living conditions in the community have also been improved. Cultural tourism offers decent work opportunities for women and young people. This paper points out that the strategy of tourism development can revive the heritage, enhance community identity and pride, bring huge economic benefits to local communities, and make community members own and manage tourism instead of becoming low-end workers in tourism.
