这里刊登的一幅画,是《点石斋画报》上刊登的,故事原型是清末许奉恩所著笔记小说《里乘》中一个“一文钱”的故事:甲、乙两徽商人挟重资到苏州贸易,结果挥霍一空,日则行乞,夜则寄宿古刹。一天晚上,二人就地燃火,相对欷歔。甲徽商摸出仅存的一文钱要扔掉,乙徽商急拿住说:我有办法了。不一会,乙徽商怀抱竹片、草茎、破纸、鸡鸭毛等物归来。他鼓动甲徽商和他一起用一文钱买来的面粉,索水调浆,将草缠竹片上,蒙上纸,再遍粘鸡鸭毛。一共做了二三百件宛然如生的各种禽鸟纸玩
