Periodic click-induced auditory steady-state response (ASSR) can be used for clinical audiometry and brain status testing. This paper studies a chirp-based ASSR method based on the theory of cochlear basilar membrane traveling wave. In this method, the ASSR was stimulated by periodic chirp sound, and the distribution and amplitudes of ASSR in scalp obtained by chirp and click at 40Hz and 90Hz were compared. The ASSR detection rate based on improved Rayleigh detection was calculated. The results show that under the same sound pressure level, chirp-to-noise clicks can induce more stable and higher ASSR of signal to noise ratio and shorten the detection time. The alternative click sound is clinically applied.
