硝酸纤维素片基照相胶片长期以来一直被认为是一种先天不稳定的材料。然而近来的研究表明,情况不一定是这样的。通过对贮存中的五种硝酸片基胶片稳定性的研究发现,它们之间存在着很大的差异。预计有的在几十年内将变得无法使用,而也有的可望经过几个世纪在室温及适中湿度条件下的贮存后,将仍处于良好的状态。这种先天化学稳定性的巨大差异也反映在对各胶片档案馆所存硝酸片基胶片的广泛调查当中。酸度试验被认为是测量它们稳定性和未来性能的最好方法。
Nitrocellulose based photographic film has long been considered a material that is inherently unstable. However, recent studies show that this is not necessarily the case. By studying the stability of five kinds of nitrocellulose films stored in storage, there is a big difference between them. Some are expected to become unusable for decades and others are expected to remain in good shape after centuries of storage at room temperature and moderate humidity. The huge difference in innate chemical stability is also reflected in the extensive investigation of nitrocellulose based films stored in various film archives. Acidity tests are considered the best way to measure their stability and future performance.
