为了探索油茶辐射育种的有效剂量和方法,于1973年在本所11年生的油茶林内,选择果大、高产、病虫害少的优良油茶三株,编为6、7、8号树;当茶果成熟时,采回取出种子,用钴~(60)r射线照射,每号树均取相同数目种子照射8000、10000、12000 伦琴三种剂量中的两种剂量,另外留相等数目种子不作处理,以便对照。处理之后,选择肥沃圃地育苗,在11月18日播种。约经一年后,在1974年11月7日调查,现将种子发芽生长情况列于下表:
