理解、了解并感受材料对任何艺术家而言都是无可置疑的要素,尤其对必须通过媒介来进行表达的雕塑家而言,更是如此。很多独特的想法与观念通过把玩材料的试验而产生。材料对抽象的生成作出了巨大的贡献。材料与观念之间存在不可或缺的紧密联系。我也注意到了一点,有时候,作者对材料的选择不是基于它是否是最好的诠释想法、观念、形式或情景的材料,而是由于方便或更多出于个人的喜好。材料必须由观念驱动并嵌入观念,或者相反的,观念由材料激发。
Understanding, understanding, and feeling the material is an indisputable element for any artist, especially for sculptors who must express themselves through the media. Many unique ideas and concepts are created by experimenting with materials. Material has made a huge contribution to the generation of abstraction. Material and concept are inextricably linked. I also noticed that sometimes the author’s choice of material is not based on whether it is the best material to interpret the idea, idea, form or context, but rather convenience or more for personal preference. The material must be conceptually driven and embedded in the concept or, conversely, the concept is inspired by the material.
