Endogenous CO is produced mainly by the hemeoxygenase (HO) catalytic hemeoxygenase (HO), another gas molecule with significant biological effects found after nitric oxide (NO). It is widely involved in the body The various physiological and pathological processes in the cardiovascular system, nervous system, digestive system plays a very important role. In recent years, its research on the reproductive system is also increasingly valued. In the female reproductive system, HO / CO will not only affect the estrous cycle, childbirth and breastfeeding behavior, but also inhibit the contraction of the myometrium in pregnancy, involved in the protective effect. In the male reproductive system, HO / CO protects testes from stress by anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-apoptotic mechanisms. This inducible protective effect will become the new hot spot of research.
