按照经验来说,短波能够传播的频率范围一般是2MHz-40MHz左右,而传播途径也可以分为地波和天波两种。在这其中地波是由于收到地面吸收以及地面电气特征的整体影响而导致减弱的程度较大,其只适合用于短距离的通信传播。基于这一原因现如今短波通信的主要传播手段只余天波一种。天波是利用电离层的反射路径集中实现传播,特别是天波经过多次传播之后还能够实现全球通信传播的目标。
