Objective: To investigate the expression and clinical significance of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and estrogen and progesterone receptor (ER, PR) in invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. Methods: The expressions of VEGF, ER and PR in 50 breast invasive ductal carcinomas and 26 benign breast carcinomas were detected by immunohistochemistry, and their clinical significance was analyzed. Results: The positive rate of VEGF expression in breast cancer was 66%, which was significantly different from that in control group. VEGF expression was closely related to the degree of tissue differentiation. In ER, PR negative group, VEGF positive expression rate is higher. Conclusion: The high expression of VEGF in invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast is closely related to the growth and metastasis of breast cancer, which can be used as a good indicator to reflect the biological behavior and prognosis of breast cancer.
