This article describes a modern fire-control radar and explains the rationale for choosing a transmitter type, two or three channel monopulse receiver, and the use of a microcomputer to accomplish many of the functions normally done with analog circuits . The microcomputer used in the radar is a high-speed computer with sixteen memory locations, using the U.S. Air Force 1750A language. In addition to data correction and radar control, the computer calculates the constant false alarm rate for automatic gain control, automatic tracking control, distance tracking and angle tracking. After the independent microcomputer receives the operation key instruction, carries on the status change, and displays the alphanumeric data to the operator. The designed radar is a multi-purpose, highly reliable precision radar. Suitable for artillery and missile control.
